Dear Alan,
9th May 2010
Proposed Community Satellite Installation
For Calle Ruby Cabo Roig
(This Quotation is valid for 60 days)
Please note, this is only a first quotation and should be used as a guide
Further to our site visit, I can confirm the installation costs for a full fibre optic satellite system which will enable all the participating residents (50 homes as per instruction) of the community to receive all what is available from Astra 2 (Freesat and Sky). This system is not to be confused with any cable systems that only offer a limited amount of channels.
The system is completely expandable and will allow each resident to have either a freesat, Free to Air or Sky decoder now or in the future. The satellite dish and the network come with a full five year warranty against any manufactures defects.
The network, will run around the complete community, in fibre optic cable with 4 way MDU’s (ways out) which will also allow for spare ways out for extra feeds to further rooms if anyone would like one.
The following costs are made up from the information given, if the uptake is less than the 50 end users, some of the network cost would be reduced.
Part A (2.4m dish)
To supply and fit 1 x 2.4m satellite dishes onto a concrete pad on block two (2.4m is best suited for collecting the BBC2 and Channel 5 weak signals although not guaranteed as these are very weak signals.
Supply and fit 1 x complete fibre optic network systems.
Total cost 11,500€
Divided across 50 households as a Private non community system system is 230.00€ each.
Please note that once a final count and the location of the interested parties are noted, we will be able to come up with a more detailed figure, which I would expect to be a slightly lower one.
Part B
To supply and fit cable and labour from the fibre optic network to the TV point in each home is 125€
PLEASE NOTE WE ARE QUOTING ONLY ON GENUINE FREESAT DECODERS YOU CAN HAVE A CHEAPER less functional FREE TO AIR BOX (FTA) IF REQUIRED.
Here are the freesat options available.
Freesat Grundig Standard Definition decoder 1 years warranty 110€
Freesat Humax Foxsat High Definition decoder 2 years warranty 195€
Freesat Humax Foxsat Plus HDR High Definition decoder 2 years warranty 395€
Freesat plus decoders require a second feed for full functionality, this extra feed would cost 50€
So for example
Using the Grundig SD decoder supplied the individual cost would be
Shared network cost 230€
Cable and labour from the fibre optic network into the home 125€
Grundig SD Decoder 110€
Total cost 465€ each iva included
We would recommend a complete site survey once you have enough residents who have shown in an interest in the system. We would expect to be onsite for most of the day. In doing this we would be able to give a final costing for the numbers interested, there would be some extra capacity as we normally find that some undecided residents change their minds as soon as work begins. The cost for this survey is 200€ which is refunded if the project then goes ahead.
The system has been designed to allow for extra capacity, if for example a resident wanted TV in an extra room this could be achieved for an extra 50€ per feed and the extra cost for the Satellite decoder (freesat SD 110€) other satellite decoders could be supplied and used, ie Sky for example. (50€ cost is only valid at the time of installation of the first decoder is installed, if at any other time the 125€ would apply plus decoder) Please note we DO NOT supply any type of SKY cards.
We would prefer to install as many houses at the same time as possible however we can always connect at a later date should the occasion arise.
If any of the residents prefer to purchase their own decoder they can do so however it is not our responsibility to set the decoder up. If the resident would like us to set up and scan the decoder we would charge 40€ for doing so. Should we experience any problems with the non supplied decoder it would not be the responsibility of a2sat to repair or replace the decoder.
We would recommend that a emergency fund of say 1,000€ is set aside on top of the quoted installation costs in case of damaged conduits at any location that may have to be replaced. Any such work and cost would be agreed with your project manager and ourselves before any extra spend was agreed. It is unlikely to be a problem but it’s for, just in case.
If any of the residents would like to see a full demonstration of the freesat and or High Definition TV then they are most welcome to pop along to our office & showroom in Daya Nueva.
As a final thought, with either option, the system would have paid for itself in less than two years with nothing more to pay! against the fee’s that would have been paid over to Torresat in the same time period and continue to pay.
Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
Kind regards
Guy
